Organic apples nourishing local organizations

CHFA selected five Members of Parliament (MPs) across Canada and presented 400 organic, Canadian-grown apples with the aim they would in turn present them to a worthy cause in their riding. The goal of this initiative is to not only increase the awareness and understanding of Canadians about the benefits of using natural health products and organics but also to develop stronger government relations.

In January, the following MPs collaborated and donated the organic apples to their favourite causes.

Alex Atamanenko, MP for British Columbia Southern Interior, presented the organic apples to the Nelson Food Cupboard Society (January 25);

Ted Menzies MP for Macleod, Alberta presented these apples to the students at West Meadow Elementary School (January 19t) where member JoAnne Wilson of Herbal Healing Inc. in Nanton, AB attended;

Dr. Colin Carrie, MP for Oshawa, ON presented the apples to St. Vincent’s Kitchen and The Refuge (January 28); and,

Mrs. Joyce Murray, Member of Parliament for Vancouver Quadra, presented to Kerrisdale Seniors Centre.
