Our Demand Planner is responsible for the development and management of a demand planning & forecasting tool to support the company’s aggressive growth. Responsibility includes ensuring data accuracy for short-term and long-term demand at Naturally Home Grown Foods own facility and Co-Packers; reviewing current forecasts data with the Sales team; assisting with the Sales and Operations (S&OP) process. This role is required to have strong interpersonal skills to provide planning and forecasting support and expertise to cross-functional teams, such as Scheduling, Logistics, Purchasing, Operations, and R&D.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Planning

  • Leads weekly communication with sales, manufacturing, and supply chain to discuss the current production plan, required resources, sets priorities to overcome obstacles on capacity, demand forecasting and promotions
  • Identifies, reports risks to order fill rates (OTIF) and possible stock outages and coordinate recovery plans in collaboration with supply chain and production teams
  • Mapping out and updating a rolling 6-month production plan to review and identify constraints on upcoming opportunities, forecasts and order fulfillment and lead resolution planning in collaboration with sales, supply chain and production by presenting what if scenarios and options
  • Set inventory targets in response to forecasts, promotions with considerations to production and warehousing capacity and costs with Operations and Supply Chain Managers
  • Responsible for aligning and prioritizing materials with the Supply Chain Planner to support the production plan with considerations to lead times, shelf life and warehouse storage capacity and costs
  • Measures and monitors production floor output/performance to incorporate into product flow rate to minimize congestion and align with warehouse supervisor for storage planning & outbound pacing
  • Plan, modify and communicate scheduling and possible changes in partnership with Production Supervisor for seamless execution to meet daily production targets and planning
  • Respond and revise production plan/schedule accurately and in a timely manner in response to any supply issues, unscheduled downtime, preventative maintenance, sanitation, and any other interruptions affecting target production uptime
  • Works closely with sales and order desk to ensure that finished goods will be available for order fulfillment on time and in full
  • Identify and track operational efficiencies to support continuous improvements and agility in production workflow to further improve upon production plans to meet demands and operational targets
  • Align with Operations Manager on available production time, changeovers, required sanitation, and maintenance downtime to calculate weekly production uptime targets
  • Review opportunities and flow through of WIP inventory and put plans in place for processing to finished goods status
  • Work with sales, operations, supply chain and marketing on new product development and execution

Co Manufacturing

  • Identify co manufacture supply requirements and work with Supply Chain Planner for raw material supply, PO issuance and tracking meet target inventory levels with considerations to costs and allocation to various 3PL locations to support regional markets
  • Assist with leading communication with co manufacturer on requirements for order fill, material supply, quality issues, production capacity at their facility, new product onboarding and overall service performance

General

  • Participate in creating SOPs, training and mapping out best practices in supply chain and operations as it pertains with continuous improvement, lean practices, and ERP implementation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Operations
  • Proficient in MS Office (One Drive, Office 365, Work, Excel, Outlook)
  • Qualifications in logistics and/or recognized safety programs
  • Exceptional customer service abilities and highly organized
  • Strong working knowledge of storage, packing, and shipping techniques
  • Results orientated with a disposition towards continuous improvement
  • Positive employee relationship skills
  • Project management capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Qualified candidates will be required to complete a successful background check
  • This position is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (In Office)
