Founded in 1977 Community Natural Foods is celebrating their 40th Anniversary of operations in 2017. Community Natural Foods operate three full format stores in Calgary, Alberta which generate over $50 million in annual revenue and service an estimated audience of over 150,000 customers annually. Within the industry, Community Natural Foods is recognized for their superior staff knowledge and customer service, and believe that by creating exceptional customer experiences that they will always be a home for their company within the marketplace. Additionally, their investment in technical infrastructure has allowed them to created efficiencies which are rarely seen within natural food markets in Canada. In 2016 Community welcomed the entire supplier community to Calgary for a one-day summit which opened a dialogue allowing for an increased depth of retailer/supplier collaboration, introduced a brand new B2B vendor portal, revamped their staff product training program, doubled their promotional activities, and launched many other new initiatives. They also grew the demand for their in store seminar series with consistently more than 75 participants in their bi-weekly store staff led How2 lecture series and with more than 120 participants in their monthly lectures presented by industry experts.
